Singer, pianist and songwriter Randy Newman will bring his "Harps and Angels" tour to Des Moines for an Oct. 12 concert at Hoyt Sherman Theatre.
Newman, who boasts a mantle full of Grammys, Oscars and other awards, performed in Iowa as recently as May, at the Englert Theatre in Iowa City.
Online presale tickets for his Hoyt concert go on sale at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 26, through www.ticketmaster.com. Public on-sale for the tickets will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 29.
Tickets cost $62.50 or $52.50. The show is billed as "an evening with" Newman, and there will be no opening act.
Newman, widely known for his soundtrack work in "Toy Story" and other Disney Pixar animated films, released the new solo album "Harps and Angels" on Aug. 5, his first collection of all-new material in nearly a decade.
